Cell Response In
نویسنده
چکیده
Parental-type spleen cells or thoracic duct lymphocytes (TDL), 1 when injected under the renal capsules of genetically tolerant F1 hybrid recipients, initiate an inflammatory reaction that results in the local destruction of tissue in the rat (1). Elkins has described many aspects of this local graft-versus-host (GVH) reaction, repeatedly stressing the requirement for hematogenous cells of the host to sustain an ongoing reaction (2-4). As described, the local GVH reaction appears to be an in vivo counterpart of a one-way mixed lymphocyte reaction in which the host cells serve primarily as the source of the histocompatibility (H) antigens that stimulate the donor cells to enlarge, divide, and destroy target tissues (5, 6). The situation in vivo, however, may well be more complex, particularly with respect to the role of the host cell. Host cell proliferation, for example, can be a conspicuous feature in both systemic (7-10) and local (11, 12) GVH reactions.

Evaluation of the Primary Response of Basal Cell Carcinoma to Aminolevulinic Acid Photodynamic Therapy
Background: Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer in human beings. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a novel therapeutic method which may be regarded as a non-invasive useful alternative for traditional treatments of BCC. This study was designed with the aim of evaluating the primary response of BCC to PDT.Methods: This clinical trial was perform...
متن کاملDecreased T Cell Response to Mitogen and Increased Anti-cytoplasmic Antibody in Drug-Free Schizophrenic Patients
Background: Apart from genetic and environmental factors, activation of autoreactive mechanisms has been proposed to play a role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. In re-cent years, considerable work has been carried out to understand the role and contribution of the immune system in this disease. Objective: To investigate the T cell response to phytohaemagglutinin (PHA) and determine the se...
متن کاملElevated white blood cell counts and risk of metabolic syndrome: a dose-response meta-analysis
Background and Aim: Elevated white blood cell count has been a known risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Cardiometabolic diseases have some risk factors in common. Therefore, we assessed the association between elevated white blood cell counts and risk of metabolic syndrome using dose-response meta-analysis method. Materials & Methods: We searched for observational studies including white ...
متن کاملThe Role of chk2 in Response to DNA Damage in Cancer Cells
Accumulation of gene changes and chromosomal instability in response to cellular DNA damage lead to cancer. DNA damage induces cell cycle checkpoints pathways. Checkpoints regulate DNA replication and cell cycle progression, chromatin restructuring, and apoptosis. Checkpoint kinase 2 (chk2) is activated in response to DNA lesions. ATM phosphorylate chk2. The activated Chk2 kinase can phosphoryl...
